  • 1956 U.S. Olympic Trials

I'm trying to find the results of the 1956 U.S. Olympic Trials in Los Angeles. Does anyone know a website or URL where I can find them?

I'm particularly interested in the High Jump won by Charley Dumas and the 110m.HH heats and final run between Lee Calhoun, Jack Davis and Joel Shankle.

I appreciate any help you can give me on this.

USATF printed a big book of ALL OT's last year.

Do not know if all that info is loaded in any computers. Ask here what you want specifically and any one of many people here can give you the info, either from that book or old T&FN issue.

I have a lot of the OlyTrials. I have complete computerized database of all Olympic results.

Would you be able to find Ben Garcia's javelin distance? (3rd?,'56 Trials). I could use it for state(N.M.)all-time age-record lists I've compiled. If you can post it, thanks!

Thank you! (Ben was probably the best jav thrower ever to come out of La Luz,NM ...)

Phil Fehlen, tie 8th at 6'4 1/2" and still jumping (last time I checked, anyway.) American over-60 record of 5'5 1/4" in 2000. A drop in performance of only 11 inches over 44 years (although his PR was considerably higher, in the 6'10" neighborhood.)

OK thanks for your earlier replies. Now does anyone have the results for the Long Jump and Triple Jump from the 1956 L.A. Olypmic Trials?
