    I don't recall the pacemakers but Cruz's splits were:
    23.8, 49.6, 75.8.
    By comparison Coe's in 1981 were 24.4, 49.7, 75.0.
    so in a mythical race, coe wouda gone thru 600m over 6m ahead !!

    for them to end up with the same time does slightly indicate to me that coe went out too fast ( albeit he didn't have a koskei pushin him ) & wilted too much in the stretch

    i'm sure if coe had gone thru 600 in maybe mid-75, he wouda had a little less lactate in him & maybe able to come back in more like a 26-flat for a 1'41.5

      I think that the Lewis/Powell LJ series takes the cake for the best combined sequence of marks, at least of the ones that I am familiar with (not so go on the throws).

      Another esquence is that of Andre Manson at the WJ. What I recall is that he cleared 11 heights in his 11 jumps, ending at a pretty lofty level.
