Happy birthday today (Thursday) to an Olympic champion who was born 92 years ago today.

Our birthday athlete had eight children and competed in only one Olympic Games.

The father of our birthday athlete also competed in the Olympics and also in a very similar event to our birthday person's Olympic gold medal event.

You know that this individual competed in only one Olympic Games, but did you know that this athlete competed in two events at that one Olympics?

This person won two Olympic medals and died on a Thursday at the age of 91.

Time to name our birthday athlete on this second Thursday of August.

Charlie Hewes Moore was born in Pennsylvania 92 years ago today. Good job, bambam1729. Moore won the 1952 Helsinki Olympic 400 hurdles and six days later he ran the third leg (46.3) on the U.S. four by 400 relay that took the Olympic silver medal behind Jamaica's gold medal finish. His father ran the 110 hurdles at the 1924 Paris Olympics. Charlie Moore graduated from Cornell University in 1952 and later made a name for himself in the business world. He passed away in Pennsylvania last October at the age of 91.

      Thank you, bambam1729.

Actually his father was only an alternate to the 1924 US Olympic team and did not actually run at Paris.
