Howard sisters Artra, Sherri, Tina, and Denean combined to set the (still-standing?) 4×440y HSR in 1979. The next year Sherri (HS senior) and Denean (HS sophomore) finished first and third, respectively, in the Olympic Trials 400. Sherri and Denean later won Olympic medals in the 4×400: 1984 gold and 1988 silver for both, 1992 silver for Denean.
