  • Many Champions Intelligently Know Olympic Games

Happy birthday today (Tuesday) to three Olympic champions who will be known today as Athlete "A", Athlete "B", and Athlete "C".

Athlete "A" was 38 years old when Athlete "B" was born and Athlete "B" was four years old when Athlete "C" was born.

It has been a total of 211 years since their births and two of these champions are still alive today.

These three athletes competed in a total of nine Olympic Games and won a total of three Olympic gold medals (no hurdles).

"A" was 42 years old when "C" was born and "A" died 22 days after turning 89.

"B" and "C" competed at the same Olympic Games twice and won Olympic gold in the same event.

You might know that "A" and "C" won Olympic medals in the same event.

None of these three individuals won Olympic bronze medals, however two of them won Olympic silver medals.

Do you have any idea who these three champions are on this first Tuesday of October?

Please name as many of the three as you can and good luck.

Happy 55th birthday today to Inessa Kravets and well done, Olli.

Inessa Kravets competed in three Olympic Games (1988, 1992, and 1996). She was tenth place in the women's long jump at the Seoul Olympics and she won the silver medal in the long jump at Barcelona (1992). She didn't make the long jump final at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, however she did win the gold medal in the women's triple jump in Atlanta.

Happy 59th birthday today to Mike Conley and very good, Tuariki.

Mike Conley also competed in three Olympics (1984, 1992, and 1996). Mike won the silver medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games in the triple jump. He took the Olympic gold medal in the triple jump at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He was fourth in the triple jump at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

        Thank you Olli and Turaiki.

Olga Gyarmati was born in Hungary 97 years ago today. You got her, bambam1729.

Olga Gyarmati tied for 17th place in the women's high jump at the 1948 London Olympic Games three days after winning the gold medal in the London long jump.

At the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, Gyarmati was tenth place in the long jump, did not make the final in the 200, and ran on the Hungarian four by 100 relay which did not make the Olympic final.

Four years later (1956) in Melbourne, she was 11th place in the women's long jump.

She and her husband left Hungary for Great Britain and then moved to the United States. Olga died in Massachusetts in 2013 at the age of 89.

Some people consider Gyarmati one of the greatest female track and field stars from Hungary.

                Thank you, bambam1729.

I can think of a couple of others who might have known Gyarmati.

Are you referring to an American relay runner who ran the opening leg in Asia?

There are actually 2 other gold medalists in athletics born on 5 October - both relay runners, both USA - so athlete D and athlete E

Maybe same event and about 20 years apart, however one ran in the Olympic final and the other did not.
