  • The Many Gold, Shiny Olympic Medals.

Happy birthday today (Sunday) to three Olympic champions who were born a total of 218 years ago today.

These three athletes (to be known as "A", "B", and "C") competed in a total of seven Olympic Games and won a total of four Olympic gold medals.

Athlete "A" was not alive when "B" and "C" were born.

"B" was four years old when "C" was born and both "A" and "C" were born in North America.

"C" and "B" both won Olympic medals of the same color at the same Olympic Games.

None of our birthday champions competed in the Olympic hurdles.

One of our birthday individuals died 12 days before turning 66 years old while the other two athletes are still alive today.

Please name these three Olympians on this second Sunday of November.

    Remember, no research is allowed.

Do your best and best of luck to you.

Happy birthday today to Osleidys Menendez who was born in Cuba 42 years ago this day. Nice job, noone.

Menendez won two World Championship gold medals in the women's javelin. She competed in three Olympic Games (2000, 2004, and 2008). Osleidys Menendez took the bronze medal in Sydney (2000), she won the Olympic gold medal in Athens (2004), and she was sixth in the javelin in Beijing (2008).

      Thank you, noone.

A is 130 years old, B is 46 years old, C is 42 years old.

        B won bronze in 2000.
        Therefore B likely won gold in 1996, 2000, 2004 or 2008.

B likely born in Europe, Asia or Africa.

        B is GS.

GS is either Gada Shoua or Gabriela Szabo.
I go with Szabo as Shoua only won a gold in 1996.

TM being born in 1891 presumably won gold in 1912 or 1920, and presumably from the USA or possibly Canada.

Tuariki, you have a lot of information there, so let's check it out right now. Yes. Athlete "A" was born 130 years ago today was definitely from either the U.S. or Canada. Athlete "A" did win Olympic gold in either 1912 or 1920.

Yes, "B" did win Olympic bronze in 2000 (Sydney) and you are correct that Athlete "B" did win Olympic gold in either 1996, 2000, 2004, or 2008.

You are also correct in stating where "B" was born.

Happy 46th birthday today to Gabriela Szabo. Very well done, Tuariki.

Gabriela Szabo won the Olympic silver medal in the women's 1,500 at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. She did not make the final in the Olympic 5,000 in 1996.

Szabo took the bronze medal in the women's 1,500 at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She also won the Olympic gold medal in the 5,000 at the 2000 Sydney Games.

Gabriela Szabo was born in Romania 46 years ago today.

          Thank you, Tuariki.

Ted Meredith was born in Pennsylvania 130 years ago today. You got him, bambam1729.

Meredith was 20 years old when he took fourth place in the men's 400 at the 1912 Stockholm Olympic Games. He won the gold medal in the 800 at the Stockholm Games and he ran the third leg on the U.S. four by 400 relay team that won the gold medal with a world record of 3:16.6.

Eight years later in Antwerp, Meredith did not make the final in the Olympic 400, but he did run the third leg on the U.S. four by 400 relay team that took fourth place in that final.

After the 1912 Olympics and before the 1920 Games, Ted Meredith took part in World War I. Later in his life, he became a real estate broker. He died at the age of 65 in New Jersey.

              Thank you, bambam1729.
