It covers the entire year of Ormsby & Herbst, from XC to the NCAA race where Ormsby left from!
It's also a great compact history of post-Title IX women's running, from Doris Heritage and Mary Slaney to 1986 and beyond, including Suzy Favor, who was a frosh when Herbst was a senior!
But the book is mostly about the psychology and emotions of running, and how Ormsby came to attempt suicide, and how it greatly affected Herbst!
It's much respected and praised!

Don't know if Sarah Schulze's story will be covered here, but later today (4 p.m. Pacific time), NBC has a documentary called "I'm Fine, Not Really", about the pressures and expectations put on student athletes leading to mental health issues!
Sounds very interesting, and certainly very topical!!

Student-athletes' deaths show NCAA must address mental health (yahoo.com)
Five NCAA student-athletes in less than two months have died by suicide.
Five young people who couldn't hold on one more day.
Five families grieving.
Five teams coping.
We have to talk about it.

I don't think she will be the last one to quit this year for that reason.
Pushing yourself beyond your mental health limits just to try to get 1 or 2 points for your team at the conference meet isn't worth losing your mind over.

Lauren Bernett, not T&F, but a James Madison University softball player, died a few days ago and the death was also just ruled a suicide. Don't remember ever hearing so much about this in young athletes.
