Happy 52nd birthday today (Sunday) to an Olympic champion with two Olympic gold medals from just one Olympic Games.

Our birthday athlete did not compete in the Olympic hurdles, however one of those two Olympic gold medals came with a world record.

How many Olympic gold medal winning athletes can you name that went on to become the head coach at their high school and their college?

This champion has accomplished that feat.

Please name our birthday individual on this Father's Day and Juneteenth Day celebration.

I almost agree with Garry. It took me until I read the age.

Yes, as usual GH is right. Age pins down the Oly quite well, and then the subject line gives it away.

Since others may still be working on this. The other initial comes after Q in the alphabet.

Will someone (else) finally give the answer to this too easy question?

Too much fun letting it sit out there. Maybe someone who has never gotten one will show up and claim it.

Happy 52nd birthday yesterday (Sunday) to Quincy Watts. Nicely done, dukehjsteve.

Quincy Watts was born in Detroit, Michigan, moved to Los Angeles, graduated from Taft High School (Woodland Hills, Los Angeles County), and then moved to USC. Quincy ("Q") made the U.S. Olympic team to the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games where he won the Olympic gold medal in the 400 (43.50) and three days later, he ran the second leg (43.1) on the winning four by 400 relay team that set a world record of 2:55.74.

Quincy became the head coach at Taft High in Woodland Hills and today he is the head coach at USC.

Thank you, dukehjsteve, gh, cigar95, catson52, and KDFINE.

What's the LED equivalent when replacing a Quincy Watts incandescent bulb ?

Doesn't matter. It still takes 43.50 seconds to replace it.

As a teacher (in an Academy), I know how thin the area is between "too easy" and "too difficult" questions. For the former, nobody cares to answer, for the latter nobody dares. And what is too easy for some is too difficult for others. My thoughts went a bit along the lines of dukehjsteve's, even though I think neither of those Qs made a WR in Olympics. In any case, as a European with no particular interest in 400m, I didn't remember Watts. Moreover, when catson52 wrote, "The other initial comes after Q in the alphabet," I thought the last name begins with R, but it seems I misunderstood "after".
