Oh I forgot (I was too suck in recent memory!)

I would actually maybe go with 1971/1972 John Smith. Give him new spikes and hes running a 43.5 or better split!

For the third leg, who would you choose between John Smith, LaMont Smith, Willie Smith or Matt Hudson-Smith at their bests?
I would go for LaMont Smith.

I see a very fast Smith family.
Can you find its first names?
    Calvin Smith
    Tommie Smith
    Matt Hudson-Smith
Christian Smith (3rd place at 2008 USA trials)???

TN1965, you should write a book about first/last names statistics around relays, 🥇🥇🥇

This is probably the fastest identical first name team.

    Irina Privalova 10.77.
    Irina Slyusar 11.05.
    Irina Pukha 11.12.
    Irina Khabarova 11.18.

They would get 0.05 upgrade by replacing Khabarova with Irena Szewinska.

    Next fastest would be...

    Michelle Lee Ahye 10.82.
    Michelle Burrell Finn 11.05.
    Michelle Freeman 11.16.
    Michelle Collins 11.19.

    Marina Zhorova 10.98.
    Marina Trandenkova 11.06.
    Marina Molokova 11.08.
    Marina Kislova.

Interestingly, two of the top three teams are teams of Slavic names. This is contrasting with the fastest last name teams dominated by Anglo names.

Names on the women's side are tough to match! Maybe and "all-Chris" team of Christine Arron, Chryste Gaines, Christania Williams, Christine Mboma ?

SAFP (10.60), Kelly Ann Baptiste (10.84), Ana Claudia Lemos (11.01), Sherri Ann Brooks (11.05)

    8. Team Wambui 1:01:00.46. (Nganga 14:44.49, Esther 15:17.75, Nancy 15:22.00, Felicia 15:36.42.)
    7. Team Chepchumba 1:00:55.28. (Pamela 14:56.75, Peninah 15:00.26, Joyce 15:26.19, Beatrice 15:32.08)
    6. Team Kiplagat 1:00:41.41. (Florence 14:40.14, Lornah 15:06.40, Esther 15:07.87, Jemutai 15:47.00)
    5. Team Cheruiyot 1:00:39.82. (Vivian 14:20.87, Rose 14:46.41, Lenah 15:44.54, Lucy 15:48.00)
    4. Team Wang 1:00:11.06. (Dongmei 14:48.45, Junxia 14:51.87, Chumei 15:07.16, Xinting 15:23.58)
    3. Team Wanjiru 59:56.88. (Veronia 14:44.82, Felista 15:02.28, Rosemary 15:03.49, Mercy 15:06.29)
    2. Team Dibaba 58:42.13. (Tirnesh 14:11.15, Genzebe 14:15.41, Ejegayehu 14:32.74, Mare 15:42.83)
    1. Team Cherono 58:27.14. (Eva 14:30.77, Mercy 14:33.95, Priscah 14:35.30, Gladys 14:47.12)

Both Mare Dibaba and Birhane Dibaba probably could have run much faster 5k if they had tried seriously. But that's the fastest official record. (Birhane does not have an official 5k time. She ran 32:11 on road 10k) The baby sister, Anna Dibaba has run only 15:59.12.

Team Chrerono would probably also win in a mixed gender relay with three men and three women. They have Abraham (13:15.70), Alex (13:25.28), and Stephen (aka Saif Saaeed Sheheen) who ran 12:48.81.
Correction. This team should be no.4.

    Team Chelangat. 1:00:07.85. (Sheila 14:40.51, Sarah 15:00.61, Mercyline 15:09.45, Mercy 15:17.28)

Two Kenyans and two Ugandans. The only "multinational" ream on the list.

    Kortnei 11.09, Kerry, 11.19, Zelda 11.23, Triste 11.26. 44.77.

    Nakya 52.09, Nashonme 52.40, Alysia 52.41, Jessica 52.50. 3:29.40.
