  • Best Home Grown College XC team?

Which college XC team comprised of kids who went to high school in the US was the best ever? I know UTEP had great teams of foreign runners, but who had the best home grown team?

The Oregon team with Salazar, Chapa and the McChesneys was incredibly talented and if Jeff Nelson hadn't gotten injured would have been even better.

I guess the definition of "home grown" is open to debate, but Wisconsin's '82 championship team were all Midwestern boys, who all grew up within 150M of Madison.

Dan, For others, as I'm sure you already know, Don Volkey (transfer from Northern Illinois after the program was dropped)was the only scoring member from outside the state of Wisconsin. Hacker, Jenkins, Easker, Volkey, & ? Help me!

Year after year after year, Dr. Joe Vigil produced national team champions with native Coloradans. Those teams beat many D1 teams.

I would guess that Wisconsin team had at least one Stintzi on it?
