Chris Crawford was a very good tennis player in the late 50s and early 60s. He was a non-playing member of the Davis Cup team, along with Butch Buchholtz, where the U.S. "rented" Alex Olmedo to re-capture the cup from Australia right after Anderson and Cooper turned pro. First time I went to Forest Hills I saw him in a 4th round match against Herbie Flam. Real grass courts.Originally posted by 79 View PostComment

Before my time but Ray Crawford was a noted English football/soccer player in the late 50s and 60s. He was top scorer when Ipswich won their only English League title in 1962. Still with us at 86.Comment
