    I have found this photo in the Getty Image website.
    You can see many other photos of this very iconic sprinter this day there.
    The best 200m talent ever (with Usain Bolt) to my mind.
    I didn't know he had run exhibitions like this one in the early 70s'.

    I remember there being a connection between Tommie Smith and Wakefield Trinity. I think I must have mis-remembered as I thought he had actually played rugby for them !! For what it's worth, this Wikipedia entry says that Tommie was beaten in 3 of the 4 races at Wakefield by George McNeill, a professional sprinter - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_McNeill_(sprinter)
