  • Jim Dupree?

Jim Dupree finished a close 4th in the 800-meters at the 1960 U.S. Olympic Trials (virtual dead-heat with Ernie Cunliffe). I thought I had read somewhere that he had passed away, but I can't find any confirmation. Anyone know his status?

Walt, I haven't heard anything about Jim Dupree in many years. I would imagine that he would now be about 84, or so, years old. I saw him run many times after he went to Southern Illinois and then ran for the Los Angeles Striders, but lost any contact with him years ago.

I seem to recall his passing in the late '60s

Dupree would be 87 this week if he is still alive.

I vaguely recall him being a boxing commissioner somewhere.

A little reseach revealed that ithe N.Y. boxing commissioner was a different Jim Dupree (a N.J. boxer of note).
