I recognize this is real fine-grained trivia but maybe someone can confirm if that's true or not. (I'm referring to Mathathi's 5000m time at Osaka this past weekend).

The fastest ever in Japan is 13:03.84 by Mathaithi in Niigata Sep 26 2004.
I have also 13:05.33 by Josphat Ndambiri Muchiri in Tokyo 2005 and 13:05.45 by Julius Gitahi in 1999.

Also James Mwangi Murigi ran 13:05.05 to win the race in Tokyo where Muchiri ran 13:05.33.
