  • Michael Stember Cal HS 1600 Championship splits

Recently watched (again) Stember's dominating win in the Cal HS 1600 championships (I think he ran 4:04.xx) Not sure what year. Does anyone have the 400 splits in that race (even every 200 would be great if available). Thanks

                Oh, that tc

A work of assiduous track & field scholarship, The California State High School Track & Field Meet 1915-2006 is a feast for track nuts. Complete results of all finals, plus heats and qualifying in more recent years---a great achievement of statistical history by Tom Casacky and Bill Peck. You’ll find the names of some of the greatest in these pages: Paddock, Hines, Mathias, O’Brien, Dumas, Rafer Johnson, Devers, Flojo, many more, plus state champions who excelled in other sports like Hugh McElhenny and Bobby Bonds. Includes a bonus pictorial section with many rare photos. There’s also a summary of each state meet indicating team champions and individual highlights. 216pp. 2006.

I've only had ten minutes or so to look at the book, but it seems that the inclusion of splits is somewhat random. Most race results did not seem to have them.

                      Old Cal State Videos

If you want to see alot of Calif State Videos, you can find them at:

                      http://www.dyestatcal.com/ATHLETICS/XC/movies.htm

and then scroll down to the Track section and further down for older years - there's alot of stuff there.

This excellent newish T&F blog also maintains links to a lot of HS and other T&F video on the lower right of its home page. The blogster has been travelling on business for the past few weeks so not much recent blog content but what is up there is great.
