Good for Ben for being able to poke fun at himself. I was clearly on the wrong zoological TRACK with my classification of Ashford as a cheetah - she's a gaz-ELLE.
    Take good care of yourself.

Tomorrow, a combined team from Harvard and Yale is competing in Ireland at the University of Limerick. The headliner leading the visiting team is Harvard's Gabby Thomas, last year's Ivy League and NCAA indoor 200m champ.

One of the world's fastest women will take to the track at the University of Limerick (UL) tomorrow, 22-year-old American Gabby Thomas the undoubted main attraction at the international athletics match between UL and a combined team from Harvard and Yale.

To mark this occasion, I'm reviving this thread:

There's a very fast sprinter named Gabby
She is stocky but not at all flabby
      While at Harvard she would
Run as fast as she could
Being NCAA Champ ain't too shabby

Someone wrote one after Neil Cusack (from Limerick) won the Boston marathon in 1974. I forget how it went, but started out something like "a lad from the Emerald Isle..."

There once was a teenager from Staten Island
Whose religion was the same as Barbara Streisand
He dropped out of high school at age fourteen
And broke the 1500 World Record three times at nineteen
He was born 127 years ago on Sunday
And died one month shy of a century
He lost Olympic Gold by a tenth of a second
And only earned Silver by a photo that was taken

Abel Kiviat actually died ten months short of a century, not one month.

              And that wasn't a limerick.
