    Yeees!!!...
    This is our 1988 marathon "sleeping" Olympic
    champion.
    I think this could be very interesting subject
    for further discussions.
    For exemple, while observing the famous Algerian
    miler Nourredine MORCELLI, I have often had the
    strange feeling he was in some state of sleep,
    one lap and a half before the end, to, very
    suddenly, like a crazy locomotive, wake-up and
    make the other pretenders run, most of the time,
    for the second step...

    I'm not sure, I would have guessed Henry Rono because he use to talk about breaking through the pain to different level of consciousness but Rono never won an Oly Gold. My other guesss would be either Lasse Viren or Emil Zatopek because of the Zen like concentration both had.
