That is so wrong. Carl was definitely the LJ GOAT. Was while he was competing and still is.
Going with StinkiHam here. Who is more GOATish than CL? Not Powell, not Boston, not Jesse, certainly not Beamon!
if MJ had won gold in atlanta with 19.67, woud he still be the GOAT ?
How do you go about defending your statement about the LJ GOAT by bringing up another event???

From a historical perspective both Boston and Jesse had their day in the GOAT sun. Beamon (particulalry) and Powell never get a whiff of GOATdom . . .

If CL isn't the long jump GOAT, then I don't know who is. I'd even rank Pedroso ahead of Powell, Boston, Beamon and Jesse - but even then, none would come close to Carl.

Likewise, Maria Mutola is arguably the GOAT of the w800 - and she's two seconds away from the WR!

    have to disagree taf

he does need the WR to be the GOAT, even if he wins 6 or 7 globals

even the King with 4 succesive golds coudn't be LJ GOAT because he never had the WR in his career ( but we may have to blame lonewolf's colleague for that  )
