    Yep just a fantasy...

What school could deal with UCLA when it comes to the relays? Yes talking all time teams. Sure Baylor could hang in the 4x4 but not in the 4x1 or 4x2. What school could hang with...(talking all three relays)

    4x1...

    Mike Marsh
    Ato Boldon
    Millard Hampton
    Henry Thomas

    4x2

    Ato Boldon
    Danny Everett
    Millard Hampton
    Mike Marsh

    4x4

    Wayne Collett
    Steve Lewis
    Danny Everett
    John Smith

    hmmmmmm?

I'm a Bruin, but as much as it pains me to admit this, just across town the Trojans stack up very nicely.

But first, you've got to take Millard Hampton off your 4x100. He never cracked the UCLA top ten. I'd replace him with Eric Brown or Warren Edmonson. In fact, I'd take him off of the 4x200. Greg Foster was a NCAA 200 champ in 1979 at 20.20. Millard's 200 best at UCLA was only 20.43.

    4x100
    James Sanford
    Lennox Miller
    Clancy Edwards
    Charlie Paddock

    4x200
    James Sanford
    Clancy Edwards
    Billy Mullins
    James Gilkes

    4x400
    Quincy Watts
    Jerome Davis
    Billy Mullins
    Lionel Larry

Millard Hampton was a 20.10 guy who took the silver in the 200m at the 76 Olympics. If he can run an Olympic third leg in the 4x1, I'll take that. He definately belongs on both relays.,

      USC

      4x1

      Lennox Miller
      James Sanford
      Don Quarrie
      Clancy Edwards

      4x2

      Clancy Edwards
      James Gilkes
      James Sanford
      Don Quarrie

Yep on your 4x4. (Erdesel Garrison?)

I see UCLA winning all three.

I know what Millard Hampton did at the Olympics. I was his teammate at UCLA for 2 years. But he didn't run 20.10 (or that good of a 100) while he was at UCLA. I thought the gist of your post was about what these guys did while they were in school. Millard's first year at UCLA was 1977.

That was more about the alumni of.....as opposed to what was accomplished while there. Yep failed to make that clear.

Why such a low opinion of Hampton?

            LSU

            4x100
            Trindon Holliday
            Xavier Carter
            Slip Watkins
            Glenroy Gilbert

            4x200
            Xavier Carter
            Rohsaan Griffin
            Curtis Perry
            Efram Coley

            4x400
            Derrick Brew
            Xavier Carter
            Kelly Willie
            Alleyne Francique

The men's 4x100 and 4x400 have been swept at NCAA Outdoors four times, once by UCLA, once by USC and twice by LSU. What's unique about the first LSU sweep?

Not a low opinion. Just stating the facts. He just never found the magic that he had in 1976. He was pretty much a bust for the Bruins and never competed again after he finished school.

                How about...

                Trindon Holliday
                Glenroy Gilbert

                Yep!

                  Robert Parham

There is a school out there with eight Olympians in the sprints. Another with six. Not that they could beat the Bruins but...hmmmm?

It should be pointed out that UCLA has no entries in the collegiate all-time top 10 performance list in either the 4x100 or the 4x200. And though they couldn't compete in the 4x400, I think TCU would be in the mix in both the 4x100 and 4x200. How about Kim Collins, Michael Frater, Ray Stewart and Jon Drummond?

This is more about all-star alumini...ok?

                          TCU

                          4x1

leadoff...Jon Drummond-Kim Collins-Darvis Patton-Raymond Stewart (As ya know the 4x1 is not just about speed, that's why Frater and Percival "sub10.00" Spenser aren't there))

                          4x2

                          Phil Epps-Darvis Patton-Jon Drummond-Kim Collins

                          4x4

                          Jerry Harris-Tony Allen-Marlin Cannon-Lewis Banta

                          TCU would win the 4x1.

                            Tigerbelles

Tennessee A & I. Faggs to McGuire to Tyus to Rudoplph 4 x 100. Alternate Iris Davis.

McGuire to Cheesebrough to Matthews to Rudolph 4 x 200. Alternate Martha Hudson.
