Re: UCLA
When Henry Thomas was in his Jr. year at UCLA in '87, he clocked a 43.7 split on the 3rd leg at Mt. Sac against a team of World All Stars. He took the baton from Kevin Young and found himself trailing Bruin Alum Andre Phillips by 5 meters. He blew by Andre Phillips and opened up a 8-10 meter lead for Danny Everett to take it home.
Some guys are just born relay stars and Thomas was certainly one of them. He doesn't have an open 400 time that comes close to the quality of that 43.7 split.
I seriously don't even want to speculate on who you could take off of that team to make room for Henry... I'd be more inclined to have this very solid "B" team consisting of:
1. Warren Edmonson OR Benny Brown
2. James LuValle ('35 Ncaa champ, Bronze in Berlin, chemistry-physics scholar)
3. Maxie Parks
4. Henry Thomas
