There is a school out there with seven Olympians in the sprints, five of whom came home with Gold medals. Which school is it? And, is there another US college with a greater number of sprinters who have Golds?
TWO questions before I can answer:
    1. How are you fellas defining "sprints" -- only 100m and 200m?? OR do you mean the 400, 400H, 110H, 4x1, 4x4

    2. Is it just on the men's side or combined with women?
I was following Texas' lead, counting the number for one US college of:
    Individual male Olympians (not the number of medals);
    Flat 100/200/400 sprinters (60m counts, too,) but no hurdles;
    No multi-events.

For Texas: I am thinking of another school you haven't listed yet that has seven Olympians in the sprints, five of whom came home with Gold medals. Of course, you have found USC which has produced 8 Olympians, six of whom have won individual male Gold medals.

Can you leave Michigan (god rest their football team's soul) out of that?

    1. Archie Hahn won 4 GOLD medals in the Olympic 60m, 100m x2 and 200m
    2. Ralph Craig won 2 GOLD medals in the 100 and 200
    3. Eddie Tolan won 2 GOLD medals in the 100 and 200

That's 8 individual "sprint" GOLD medals for UofM (off the top of my head) and not including hurdles, anything over 200m OR relays.

    Ray Norton
    Dennis Johnson...Jamaica
    Ronnie Ray Smith
    Tommie Smith
    Lee Evans
    JohnCarlos

    Arizona St

    The Spence Brothers...Jamaica
    Ulis Wiliams
    Henry Carr
    Ron Brown
    Ron Freeman
    Herman Frazier (Oldtimer)
    Dwayne Evans

    USC did have

    Howard Drew
    Charlie Paddock
    Frank Wykoff
    Mel Patton
    Mike Larrabee
    Lennox Miler
    Don Quarrie
    Quincy Watts

    4x4

    Wayne Collett

When Henry Thomas was in his Jr. year at UCLA in '87, he clocked a 43.7 split on the 3rd leg at Mt. Sac against a team of World All Stars. He took the baton from Kevin Young and found himself trailing Bruin Alum Andre Phillips by 5 meters. He blew by Andre Phillips and opened up a 8-10 meter lead for Danny Everett to take it home.

Some guys are just born relay stars and Thomas was certainly one of them. He doesn't have an open 400 time that comes close to the quality of that 43.7 split.

I seriously don't even want to speculate on who you could take off of that team to make room for Henry... I'd be more inclined to have this very solid "B" team consisting of:

    1. Warren Edmonson OR Benny Brown
    2. James LuValle ('35 Ncaa champ, Bronze in Berlin, chemistry-physics scholar)
    3. Maxie Parks
    4. Henry Thomas

    Tigerbelles

Tennessee A & I. Faggs to McGuire to Tyus to Rudoplph 4 x 100. Alternate Iris Davis.

McGuire to Cheesebrough to Matthews to Rudolph 4 x 200. Alternate Martha Hudson.

McGuire to Render to Rudoplh to Manning 4 X 400. Alternate Isabelle Daniels.

In the Rome Games of 1960, the entire US 4 X 100 team were Tigerbelles.

This is more about all-star alumini...ok?

    TCU

    4x1

leadoff...Jon Drummond-Kim Collins-Darvis Patton-Raymond Stewart (As ya know the 4x1 is not just about speed, that's why Frater and Percival "sub10.00" Spenser aren't there))

    4x2

    Phil Epps-Darvis Patton-Jon Drummond-Kim Collins

    4x4

    Jerry Harris-Tony Allen-Marlin Cannon-Lewis Banta

    TCU would win the 4x1.
