    Javier Sotomayer does hold World Age Group Bests/Records for the High Jump at age 16,17 and 18 years of age. He is also joint/equal best/record holder of the 19 years of age record.
    His records at the given ages are;
    16 yo; 2.33m (7 ft 7 3/4 inch) Havana on 19th May 1984
    17 yo; 2.34m (7ft 8 1/4 inch) Havana on 20th March 1985
    18 yo; 2.36m (7ft 9 inch) Santiago de Cuba 23th of Feburary 1986
    19 yo; 2.37m (7ft 9 1/4 inch)Athens 20th of June 1987

    Sotomayor's longevity

    I was reviewing Soto's career..he had the 8th best jump in 1984 (2.33m) and the 3rd best in 2001 (2.35)...nearly 20 years later. Is there any high jumper that had this type of longevity??
