My girlfriend gave me a CD that has almost all the 100 meter finals since the inception of the Olympics in mpeg form.Its cool to watch Paddock, Hayes,Borzov then Greene with a click.

First of all thanks Bill Carr I enjoyed viewing Jim Ryun's WR.
I have to add that I've just become bigger fan of Ryun's after reading his bio and that he puts GOD first.

Deos anyone know if his 3.51.1 race was broadcast on Wide Wolrd of Sports?

Mr. Jeffh (aka Lucky Guy - your girlfriend gave you this CD?!); How do I get hold of a copy of this CD?
Are there any other similar CD's out there (hurdles, jumps, throws)?

The heck with where she got the CD, I want the girlfriend! You can find videos anywhere; finding a woman who'll support your track-junkie habbit is nigh on impossible!

Yes, it was on the WWOS. Ryun's last lap of 53.7 with no competition - and him saying he wasn't even winded after the race make for a might impressive performance, right there with his last 1200 of 2:46 in his WR 1500 and 50.6 finish in a 3:38 race a few weeks later. The weird thing about that race is how Ryun keeps gradually accelerating, but doesn't punch it until the homestretch. He could have run much faster than 53 for the last lap. He really did have a monster kick.

This clip from Ryuns site features a very strange track that seems to be surrounded by woods. Where is this track, does it still exist. You can tell the cameraman had his view obstructed by some of the trees.
