Ryan Wilson over Earl McCullouch or Jack Davis? I don't think so.

        I disagree!

An All Time USC 110's would look like this...

        lane

        1.Jack Davis
        2.Jerry Wilson
        3.Earl McCullouch
        4.Mark Crear
        5.Ryan Wilson
        6.Toni Campbell
        7.Robert Reading
        8.Milan Stewart

        I see Wilson taking second.

This is a perfect example of your myopia when it comes to great athletes of earlier generations.

Jack Davis won three NCAA championships and two Olympic silver medals.

          'Nuff said.

Do honestly believe I'm not aware of Jack Davis? You look at the competition an athlete faced. How many great hurdlers were there in his day?

            Now think about this.

Which is easier to do win the Wyoming State HS 100meters or the Texas? Would you be willing to say the fastest kid in Wyoming probally couldn't even make that Texas final?

Wilson runs against ..FAR.. better competition than Davis did.

In 52 the Olympic bronze was won in 14.1 seconds. In 56 once again it was won in 14.1 seconds. Davis was beating guys who couldn't even break 14.0.

Jack Davis ran a 13.4 on a non-synthetic track and held the world record for three years.

He was ranked first or second in the world by Track & Field News for six consecutive years.

Why are you telling me that? You haven't noticed I'm into all that old stuff?

These guys today are simply better athletes. Hell we see it at the grade school level. Those guys from the 50's would be hard pressed to deal with what we are seeing today.'

Do you really believe Lon Myers who held the American record in the 50.100.200.400.800 and the mile could hang today?

Ryan Wilson is running sub 13.10 stuff.....ok?

No, not ok. But I guess nothing I say will ever convince you, and nothing you say will ever convince me.

                  I'm done.

All you have to do is look at the early 1900's then look at the 1930's. What big advantages did Owens/Metcalfe etc have over Craig/Hahn?

                    Go ahead elaborate!

Anyone trying to tell me Jack Davis, who might have met up with two sub 14 flatters in his entire career, is better than guys running sub 13.10 don't get off that easy.......ok? Hell no we didn't see the kind of competition we see today back in the 50's. The key word....competition. It's easy to win titles and set record vs weak competition. Something you haven't seemed to have figured out by now. So Jim Thorpe runs over todays linebackers...hahaha!!!!!!!!

Why didn't Hawaii play for the National Title? Could it be because of...competition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're one of those who read things then tries to find fault. Why not just enjoy the point of the thread?

Would it be easier to set a 100m school record at Boston College or TCU?
