Any top list would have to include Alice Coachman (TUSK), Edwin Moses (MOREH) Lee Calhoun (UNCC), Ralph Boston,Willie Davenport (SOUTH),Edith McGuire (TSU), Wyomia Tyus, Vince Matthews, Steve Riddick (NORF),Reynaud Robinson (FAM), Rod Milburn (SOUTH), and Willye White (TSU). We also produced Josh Culbreath, George Rhoden,and the great Morgan State runners of 1948-55.

The HBCU is an association of almost 100 "historically black colleges and universities." Morehouse may be the most prestigious academic institution of all of them.

Third should be Lee Calhoun or Ralph Boston (with Davenport not far behind). Don't forget the Morgan State Penn Relays & Olympic stars though. Some were Jamaican.
