1 now track coach at my old high school on LONG ISLAND where I was mainly known for XC. 2 ncaa champ in middle distance event and also coached my college team in BIG 8 CONF.

3 I won my league meet 2;5 miles and EASTERN STATES XC the SAME DAY and thus got major article in NY TIMES. EASTERN STATES then top meet in the country .

Yep, I know it alright, but as said before "I was there (almost)" so I'll stay mum.

But I too recall the article in NY Times the day after he won 2 CC RACES IN ONE DAY at Van Cortlandt Park... article included a picture of him and his coach. His conference meet was in the morning, no sweat at all, but the Eastern States meet in the afternoon had all the big hitters.... and he won it too.

Cool question satch, it will be neato if anyone gets it ( other than me).

BISON you are the man.I ONCE knew Robin pretty well ,terrific runner and person who has been in track since 1955. AFTER graduating and coaching at MISSOURI went back to Stoney Brook ,Christian boarding school on LI AND is AD and track coach.

His son developed into a pretty good distance runner too. I think he made a few XC state meets and went once or twice for track too.
