I'm guessing it took place some time between 1986 and 1989, for several reasons:

Liz McColgan was around from 1986, and then lasted until 1995
Bondarenko was around from 1983 until the late 80's.
Paula Ivan was around from 1985 til '89/'90.
Kristiansen was around from '85 - '91
Rota Mota was around from '82 - '91
Wanda Panfil was around from '86 - '91
Ulmasova was around from '75 - '86

So it's gotta be around 86ish, I think.



As for the events:

McColgan competed in 1,000m - Marathon
Bondarenko competed in 1500m - Marathon
Ivan competed in 800m - 3,000m
Kristiansen competed in 1500m - Marathon
Mota competed in 3,000m - Marathon
Panfil competed in 3,000m - Marathon
Ulmasova competed in 1500m - 3,000m

So 3,000m is the only event in which all of them competed in (at a decent level), unless the answer is an obscure event, lie the 2,000m, mile, or an indoor race!

This would suggest that it's an obscure distance, so it could be cross country.... hmmm...

Yup, that's the one. Possibly the greatest ever field in a women's distance race. Incidentally, none of the women I mentioned won - it was Annette Sergent.
