I join the mourners. What a class act she was.

Add my name to the list of mourners. With her passing and also Emil Zatopek quite recently, we have lost the greatest champions of the post WWII era. In Blankers-Koen's case, no one held WRs in more different events. And Zatopek's Oly record (48/52) and his unbeaten streak at 5K/10K for many years, is unmatchable.

I just read her obit in the LA Times. After listing her known accomplishments it also said she was the Dutch PV record holder. Did women PV in those days? First I've heard about it.

If I may echo the previous sentiment. Bankers-Koen "Thank You" for uplifting this great sport of athletics with your vision and tenacity rooted in class.
