Those marks are pretty close. He jumped 7-2 at FL relays in his first meet ever for UF, then transferred to Cincinnatti(because he wasn't going to get playing time with FL basketball), and won Drake Relays lj.

I'm with gm on this one, and I've done a bit of looking around. I don't think he ever high jumped that high, and his long jump mark was wind-aided, which meant that it was not a Trials qualifier.

Maybe they meant the ill-fated 2002 Trials... I am calling BS on this until concrete proof is provided.

I'm reading the book "Andy Roddick Beat me with a Frying Pan" by Todd Gallagher. On p.77 it says that James White who plays for the San Antonio Spurs "qualified for the [US] Olympic Trials in the high jump by leaping 7'4" and the long jump with a distance of 25'7"".
