          Re: Spelling test

As noted in an earlier thread ("long names") there's some question as to how he spells his name, as it appears two ways from palce to place, including in different places on this website:

                  Re: Spelling test

The TEXAS ICELAND guy must be the son of the silver medalist from the Melbourne '56 T.J only his last name was Einarsson. Explain that!

                        No, it was Nicole Ramalalanirina.

                          Re Vilhjalmur Einarsson, etc.:

In Iceland they still use the method that was used in all of Scandinavia until about 100 years ago: You are known primarily by your first name. The "last name" is a patronymic, i.e. it is your father's name followed by "sson" (for a boy) or -sdottir (for agirl).
That is why father and son have different last names.

You are correct NOONE. Try looking up names in an Icelandic phonebook. It goes by first name.

This spelling test may be too easy for you experts:
Spell the name of the Madagascaran 100m runner who placed 8th at the 1968 OG and later won a NAIA title for Westmont.
