    Name 3 U.S. Pole Vaulters, after 1945, who made more than 1 Olympic team but did not medal.

    Bonus points for somebody before 1940.

    2 of them are George Mattos in 52/56 and John Pennel in 64/68

      I'll get the trick answers out of the way...Tim Bright, once in the vault and once as a decathlete. Tom Hintaus (US boycott '80) and for Brazil in '84.

        Correct HJSTEVE and Cooter Brown. Did not take you long. Those 3 were terrific Pole Vaulter and certainly good enough to medal.
        There was also a vaulter in the 1930's. Anybody??

          The only vaulter I can think of is Bill Graber. Graber was a great vaulter in the 1930's and made the Olympic teams for Los Angeles and Berlin. He never did medal in the Games.

            Yes, Apple Valley. Bill Graber it was, 4th in '32 and 5th in '36.
            Thanks to Cooter Brown for reminding me of Tom Hintnaus and Tim Bright.
