It must be Mikhail Medved, the Ukrainian decathlete with a PB of 8330.

In case anyone was wondering, Medved means 'bear'.

                Re: BEARS

No one belongs in the same majorleague as Hamilton, but Tom Moore is surely in one of the highest minors as athlete and meet impressario. Athletes: Olympic champions Archie Williams and Guinn Smith; Olympic gold medalist and world record holder Leamon King. Olympic gold medalists Bob Kiesel and Jack Yerman. Olympians manques Grover Klemmer and Hal Davis. World record holders Eddie Beeson, Lon Spurrier. Olympians Bob Clark, Martin Biles, Dave Maggard, Don Bowden, Jerry Siebert. Sprinter/broad jumper Arnold Nutting. Sprinter/low hurdler Gerorge Anderson. This was said to be easy so there must be some obvious candidate, probably among the moderns and post-moderns, whom I've forgotten.

and satch, I knew you would say Rhoden for obvious reasons, ( or maybe yourself ? ( or maybe you ARE Rhoden ? )
