I know it's not Tim Mack because I checked his Facebook, so I am going to guess Nick Hysong.

OK. If Hysong should be wrong how about Galfione?

If Hysong and Galfione should both be wrong, how about Tarasov?

Ok LopenUupunut, you got it. Happy birthday yesterday to Maksim Tarasov who turned 38 years old. Maksim won the vault in Barcelona some 16 years ago.

            Pure luck there

This one I know though: which athlete turns 45 today (Thursday)? Just like his Helsinki '83 WC roommate, he took a surprise gold there, and later went on to win further medalware at both OG and WC level.

Gennadiy Avdeyenko, who also went on to win further medals at both WC and OG level and is exactly 1 month older than Bubka.

Happy birthday Sergey! Gennadiy Avdyeyenko is most famous for winning the gold medal in the high jump in Seoul. Sergey's only Olympic gold medal also came in Seoul (1988). Both Gennadiy and Sergey won the vertical jumps in the first world championships in 1983.
