880 yards to 800 meters

I believe the adjustment from 880 yards to meters is @ .7 sec. I seem to recall that it used to be @ .8 sec. Am I right, and if so when did it change. If wrong - then I'm 'righted'.

For instance: if one ran 1:49.2 880 yards in 1968 ... the conversion to the metric 800 time would be 1:48.4 or 1:48.5?

I've used X.9940 (1:49.2y = 1:48.55/hand, 1:48.69 auto). Pace would be
1:48.71, so conversion should be slightly less, since the extra 4.68 meters
should be figured as mid-race (slower) pace, not finishing pace.
