  • He Was 31

He was 31 years old when he won the Olympic gold medal. Today (Wednesday) he celebrates his 47th birthday. He did win two Commonwealth titles before his Olympic gold. He was born in Guyana, however did not represent that nation in the Olympic Games. His training partner was the favorite for the gold medal, however ended up in seventh place at that Olympics. Hint: He was the oldest Olympic gold medalist in his event at 31 years. Who is our birthday athlete today?

It can NOT be a sprinter or hurdler, because we all know that all the testosterone in the male body is depleted at age 24.

Nice going andyjgt! It is Mark McKoy who turns 47 years old today. He was known for his quick starts and he won the 110 hurdles in Barcelona over 16 years ago.
