  • Mixing Track and Geography

With all the geography questions in the "Things Not TF" section, I thought I would ask this question: Which U.S. Olympic gold medalist was born over 100 years ago in Denver, Colorado? Here is a hint: He was born in September and won more than one Olympic gold medal.

    Bud Houser?

Bud Houser is an excellent guess, however Houser was born in Missouri, so he is the wrong answer.

I cannot think of any other double gold winner that fits the time frame, in individual events, so I am going to say Frank Wyckoff, as I am pretty sure he won gold in the 400 relay more than once. Although Bill Carr and some others would work too. I'll stick with Wyckoff.

Frank Wykoff is a good guess, however he was born in October in Iowa, so it is also wrong.

All right then, how about Carr ? If that is wrong I will quit guessing.

Dukehjsteve you can quit guessing. Billthedog got the correct answer with Eddie Tolan who was born in Denver, Colorado, just over 100 years ago. Nice job.
