It was Bo Jacksons last game vs the Bengals, the one he was injured in. Earlier in the game the big guy broke off tackle.....he was gone! Then here came this cat gaining on him. With each stride that Bengal db was gaining. Bo was brought down at the 5. The announcers were stunned. Bo Jackson ran down?????? Yep...Rod Jones!

    **

He did run a 45.4 leg. Who would I use instead..???

Too bad I couldn't use Darrel Green from Texas A&I. His 10.08 just won't cut it there. I do have Morrow however...hmm? See how that works? Morrow never got close to a 10.08 yet there he is because he was a winner. What if Green had stayed in track? A 9.95ish? Then there's the obscure Francis Baldwin out of Dallas Baptist who unleashed a 9.2 then...poof!!!!!!!! Stephen F.Austin had Andrew "9.2" Hopkins who ended up in the NFL where he also...poof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't talk Texas track and not mention Blinn.

LJ - scratch Maas or Fields and add Gordon McKee (Southwest Texas, now Texas State)

400 - Darrell Hadden (also SWTx) 45.24 might deserve a lane

Blinn has to be in the mix in a lot of these races

Ok on Mckee, yep he belongs! Can't go with Hadden however.

I haven't kept up with the Texas JC scene all that much. So If I put Blinn there.........

Remember when a Blinn 4x4 team beat a Santa Monica TC 4x4 team?

And some guy named Carl Lewis doesn't make the final in the 100 or 200, or another guy named Michael Johnson in the 400 ?!

You didn't notice what I was doing there? I allowed "one" ind event per athlete. Wanted more athletes involved.

A real Texas 200 would be...

I can't see him making the open 400 but we can knock Arthur Williams a 44.6relayer off the team, making way for Young. Good one!

Young actually took sixth in 45.9.

I knew that... and it was only a 6 man final. From memory, Davis 44.9, Kaufman 44.9, Spence 45.6, Singh 45.6, some German guy about 45.7, then Young 45.9

I sure know what the answer will be but I'll nominate Eddie Southern of Texas anyway.
World ranked No. 1 at the 400 in '59 and No. 2 in '58. Ran 45.8y in '58 when Glenn Davis had just set the 45.7 WR.
