  • Pedroso - 9m

Possibly has been discussed earlier. What are the details re Perdroso's 9m long jump? A clear foul - by how much? Assisting wind? Altitude? Thanks

You mean his 8.96 jump? That one was disallowed due to a guy blocking the wind gauge. It was in Sestriere in 1995.

I think he may be referring to the jump labled "9 meters" that is on Youtube. It is clearly over 9m into the pit, but it was indeed a foul. The description says Madrid, 95' on one of the clips.
If you're ever walking down the beach and you see a girl dressed in a bikini made out of seashells, and you pick her up and hold her to your ear, you can hear her scream.

It could also have been wind-aided. Other marks from that competition in Madrid June 20 1995 where

            Pedroso 8.73/+4.8
            Tarasenko 8.49/+4.5
            Mladenov 8.34/+3.4 (+ another wind-aided 8.34)

Madrid is also at 640m, making it one of the great stealth (A) sites... as others have suggested before me, there should probably be an (a) qualifer for sites over 500m. (or at 250, w/ A starting at 500?)

Another one, of course,. is Canberra at 600+ meters. Two WR's were set there in one day at the World Cup in 1985 and they've remained WR's ever since.

Current track (WCp warmup) is at 624m and the stadium track itself was 615m.

You mean there's no longer a track in that stadium? What a pity!

Football only stadium now. That's Rugby Union, Rugby League and soccer type football. The track was ripped up in 1990. http://www.canberrastadium.com/
