A bit obscure here:

8505 - Christian Plaziat's winning decathlon score in the 1994 European Cup

6949 - Fiona May jumped 6.94m in 1999 to win the WCh silver medal

28277 - Birthdate of Tatyana Levina (28/02/77) average sprinter from Russia.... very obscure, but it's a difficult number!!!

I second well done, Jon and bf. But, I was not aware of the Cathy Freeman mark so it’s not the T&F-related mnemonic I use to make it easier for me to recall my house street #, "3642."

My association is that in my youth I volunteered on the hurdle set-up crew at meets where I learned to set-up 36" for the intermediates and 42" for the highs, or "3642." That association with track meets is older and stronger in mind than my most recent house #, so I think of it to come up with my address #. (Yes, I have too many #s in my life.)

Yes, Garry I have also been down that road many times. In my case I seem to always wake up when the clock shows an odd last digit. Thus 2.41 and it's Paklin. The other night 3.17 (my daughter's first PR in the LJ when she was 9, many years ago)

Well done, Jon, with the 36.42 - I couldn't come up with anything, and not for lack of stat references. (Closest I came was Ryun's 36.4 last 300 in a 1500, and some old throwing WRs and age records, but all one digit short. Not even a 6:04.2 or 303'6",for seconds & inches...)

first off, this whole thread is very stupid, but fun.

But yes Mark, as pathetic as it is, I did indeed have a PB of exactly 6' 3 1/2" for about 2 weeks, when I upped it to 6' 3 3/4". I can recite my PB procession from 5'0" up to its final stratospheric ceiling of 6' 5 1/2" ( 1.97m),and I bet most T&F dweeb/wonks can do the same with their PB's. But we always called them "PR's."

In a twist on the original premise, whenever I wake up in the middle of the night, rather than thinking of famous marks when I see the clock, I usually do metric conversions for the high jump if it's 1:00- or 2:00-something. If I get up at a normal hour, then I switch to the PV (5:00-something).

But if sleep in, rather than moving on to the long jump I usually find myself doing Boeings instead (707, 717, 727, 737, 747).
