    Re: HJ Trivia

    Since it's feet and inches day it was remiss of me not to let the metrically challenged Americans here know that:

    2.31m = 7'6.94488"
    2.32m = 7'7.3386"

          Perhaps I should have added a "!" to emphasise I wrote that in the spirit of yesterday's debate about feet and inches...it's called, joking!

          To get off track (so to speak), I'm not a monarchist, I think they're a bunch of in-bred Germans & Greeks (Prince Phiilip is known as "Phil the Greek" at home). Coincidently I was listening to a movie soundtrack en route to work. 24 Hour Party People, which had limited release here, is a great movie about the history of Brit music from the mid-1970's to early 1980's. If you like The Clash, The Jam, Joy Division, New Order, Suzie and the Banshees, Sex Pistols et al, I highly recommend it. The track I was listening to was "God Save The Queen" by the Sex Pistols!

            Incidentally, Grant also finished 4th in 1997 when he entered at 2.32 ! (He didn't manage to jump any higher on that occasion).

              Mark,
              I too was joking. Just a little dry humor the like of which I learned by watching Monty Python.
              No offence meant or taken.

              Anyone who knows Ovett well enough to have him throw-up in his bath is OK with me.

                LOL! After I posted that I wondered if you were actually joking. Humour is very different over here, even after living in CA for almost 20 years I often accidently upset people when I think I'm being funny...!

                  Yup. So different that we do not even spell it the same.
