Alfonso Bedoya, "Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges." The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948), starring Humphrey Bogart

Voluntary disclaimer: I knew the actor; I knew the quote in general, but always say it wrong from memory; I knew the movie; I knew where to look the rest of it up without looking it up (www.imdb.com); I have never cheated at Trivial Pursuit, but my opponents are watching; I'd rather have the full accurate answer if that's what you know or discover; It's embarrassing when I look it up and still get the wrong answer,

              Re: NCAA Jumps Trivia

To quote another great movie idol: "A man's got to know his limitations." I say, if you know the answer off the top of your head, great. If you're devoted/crazy/compulsive enough to want to look it up, that's only slightly less great. Either way, some of us learn something new...

I haven't looked anything up.... just a flat out guess at Smith because PV'ers are athletic and he might be a stunt man or something.

Guinn Smith wins Oly gold the same year movie comes out... would have been a tough double!

it was just a guess.... thought maybe he was "hot" after OG win so Hollywood gave him a job. Never up, never in.

How about Herman Brix? He won the silver medal in the 1928 Olympics in the Netherlands. Movie fans know him as Bruce Bennett. Unfortunately, he was killed about halfwat through "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" (his character was shot and killed). My favorite Humphrey Bogart movie.

Make that "halfway through". By the way, Brix was a shot putter from the University of Washington.
