  • What distance runner would you have liked to race against?

I would of loved to run against Gerry Lingren, Alberto Salzar, Henry Rono.

I would have loved to have raced against the great williamwindhamjr, and perhaps I would have sprinted all out in the first lap, just to stay close enough to his greatness so that I could intentionally trip him, and then I would gloat as I ran by him as he cried about the unfairness of it all...

Since you selected 3, that would be runners
            on the road

I DID run against Gerry Lindgren. Kind of a semi long story. Ran against Ryun and Keino too ... in the same race - equally semi ... beat 1 out of 3.

Since we are name dropping.. I ran a half mile leg in a ten man five mile relay against Frank Shorter circa 1980 as a pre-raceday workout before New York Marathon circa 1980. When the last relay leg dropped out, Shorter picked up the pace and ran a solo 4:17, got on a plane and flew to NY. I don't remember how he did in New York but he was running NY regularly in those days and I'll bet someone here can look it up.

Somebody does have to break the wind, but it appears that nobody is able to break williamwindhamjr. I imagine that williamwindhamsr must be very proud, and I sure hope there is a williamwindham III to carry on the torch.

Humans are creatures of habit with an insatiable need to see familiarity in other peoples actions.Your predictability gives them a sense of control.Turn the tables; Be deliberately unpredictable.Behavior that seems to have no consistency or purpose will keep them off balance, and they will wear themselves out trying to explain your moves.Taken to an extreme, this strategy can intimidate. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
