I first met Clarence @ the 2000 NCAA Championships where both of us were on the umpiring crew. Since that was one of the first major championships I happen'd to work as a competition official, his advice was quite valuable. The following year, at the Penn Relays, and in later years, Clarence's advice proved to be spot-on.

    He'll definitely be missed.

Lefty Martin did a nice moment of silence for him at the USATF Junior Olympics in Greensboro.

Clarence was a long time track & field official from the Pittsburgh area whose specialty was starting. He served in the 1984 & 1996 OG and four different OT's. He was a fine official and a true gentleman and will be missed. R.I.P.
