You got it. Of course had Kipketer been allowed to compete in 1996, things would likely have been different, but the fact is nobody was ever both Olympic and world champion in this event.

Godina, Timmerman, Barnes, Nelson, Cantwell and Majewski have all won gold/silver...
I think I phrased my question in such a way as to exclude this from being a correct answer. Marion did win gold at both WCh and OG, even if she was later stripped of both titles. But it's a good point.
