  • Attention dukehjsteve

Be prepared. Sunday morning there will be another birthday quiz. This is your advanced warning. Get ready, dukehjsteve. Set your alarm, have someone give you a wakeup call, or better yet, keep your eyes on the screen. It's not tomorrow, but the day after tomorrow (Sunday). Good luck.

I don't know the question - my guess is that the answer is Frank Budd

            Re: 69 today

Upton Sinclair? Joyce Brothers? Jelly Roll Morton?

Oh? It's gotta be a track person?

OK. How about Alice Brown, Grazyna Rabsztyn, or Peter Radford. (Radford and Budd were both born 70 years ago today, unless you believe Wikipedia, which says that Budd's birthday was July 20, not September 20).

That wiki entry is referring to this page for birthdate and other vital info.

Interestingly, Radford is a stats guy (a member of the UK Group, the appropriately named the "NUTS [National Union of Track Statisticians) and is compiling lists for the 18th century!

Yesterday was the half-birthday ( 66.5) of a former ACC Field athlete (who frequently posts on this board) in one of the jumping events. He also won the Huntington (NY) High School ping-pong championship in 1961. Who is he ? An answer just citing his posting handle gets full credit.
