  • Sports Illustrated and T&F

Just noticed that three of the first five SI Sportsman of the Year awards went to T&F athletes. Times have certainly changed. Only three T&F winners since (ignoring 1987's group award for community service), with the last T&F winner being Edwin Moses in 1984.

And, to underscore the fact that SI looks for "different" stuff in making the choice, not that they went for Moses in the year that his long-long win streak ended. Had he not lost......

gh, with all your power, influence, communication skills, and the talent to sell a refrigerator to an eskimo, why don't you take all those SI poo-bahs out to dinner and show them the error of their ways ?! Wine 'em, dine 'em, and shmooze 'em.

Perfect place to take them would be Coogan's, which is right around the corner from NY's Armory. About 50 framed SI covers (all T&F) adorn a wall in the back room.
