Is this Omegbemi related to a sprinter named Jimmy Omagbemi from about 30 years ago ? I just remember the name and a pic in T&FN.

Jimmy Omagbemi was one of those San Jose Staters back at the origins of "Speed City". A Nigerian Olympian who once beat Armin Hary. I would guess they are related but I don't know for sure.

          You tweked my curiousity.

Victor is the son of Jimmy Omagbemi. Which would make them Africa's fastest father/son combo. Hmmm...I think.

What about Gerald Pratt, the Californian pole vaulter who was the leading Afro-American pole vaulter in the mid-60's and once ranked among the world's top 10. Onyali was one of many Nigerian sprinters at TSU in thye late '80s and early 90s.If I remember correctly two oothers were Linda Eseimokumoh and hurdler Maria Usifo.Linda's cousin,Patrick Eseimokumoh, was the European Junior decathlon champion in 1986 representing the GDR.
