A variation on the "Son like father" post going on right, can you name any mother-son/daughter combos who were both track & field (only) Olympians? I know one, USA, but world-wide counts.

Re: Son/daughter like mother
Stanislav Olijar's mother, Lyudmila was the Latvian record holder for th 100mH (12.90 in 1989). She never won an olympic medal, but I'm guessing that she was an Olympian at one point of her career (the competition in Latvia couldn't have been that good!)
Edited to add - back in the 80's, Latvia was part of the Soviet Union, so I doubt Lyudmila Olijar would have been good enough for the 1988 Olympic Team.

Hmm... now that means that he was either a HJ'er too, or he was a decathlete. Either way, he was a WR holder in his event (like you say), so that should narrow things down a bit....

Re: Son/daughter like mother
Danny Ecker, GER (PV 6.00) '00 Olympian. If you need to be told about his mom's Olympic accomplishments, you need to find another board.
Pyotr Bochkaryov, RUS (PV 5.90) '96 Olympian, his mother was an Olympic thrower I think.
Steven Hooker. AUS (PV 5.65) qualified for the '04 AUS Olympic team a few weeks ago, his mother was in the LJ in '72.

Re: Son/daughter like mother

Jon got it.
Alice competed in the Berlin HJ. I believe she was a 3 times US HJ champ. Russ competed in the Tokyo Decathlon. Set WR in '66, 8230. Was he ever a US champ? Even if not, he did best his mother's best HJ mark.
Are there any other mother/child US Olympians?
