June of this year will be 31 years when Micheal Carter broke the high school record 81' 3". Will someone please step up to the circle and beat it this year. There is a kid named Nick Vena that is making some noise and might have a chance. I have a feeling its going to happen this year....

Won't happen. Vena's a comer but he won't come that far, not this year anyway.

Fraker of Georgia is closing in on 60' with the BigBoysBall. He and Vena and Crouser should be duking it out this year, all over 70', but 80'? . . . That's just silly.

I already said I think Nick will hit 74 feet this year. Who knows next year? Every record can be broken.

Exactly what the vast majority around here said for years before some tall dude laid down a 19.30 . . .

No such thing as a record that will never be broken.

I want to agree but that means if you follow that logic then eventually the mile record will be under 1 second.

That will be a relevant consideration when the record has gone down to 1.00. And if it can go that far, why couldn't it go to .99?

exactly and then .98 until .00000001 and then .000000001 and then.........

It would be fun though, watching someone pole vault 30,000 feet.

After watching Nick Vena on youtube he has a chance . He is only a Jr this year and I think he will throw 75-76 this year and watch out next year his Senior year. I think he is the guy to chanllenge Carters record in 2011. OMG he threw over 72 last year and he was only a sophmore...
