Yesterday (Wednesday) we celebrated Larry Myricks 54th birthday and today (Thursday) we honor another athlete turning 54.

Today's athlete set a world record at the age of 29. This person competed in two Olympic Games, placing sixth in both Games.

This person became an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts. Our birthday athlete started a "tradition in the stands" many years ago. Evelyn Ashford and our mystery athlete graduated from the same school.

Very popular with the fans, this person took a silver medal at the World Championships. Can you name this birthday athlete, born one day after Larry Myricks?

Willie Banks it is. NIce job dukehjsteve! Interesting that two such great jumpers (Myricks and Banks) were born about 24 hours apart. Happy birthday Willie Banks. I understand that Willie is still jumping in the Masters competition.
